GUIDE TO HOLDING A SWINGERS PARTY

HEDONISM'S Party Animals Party Guide contains all the ingredients of a classic swingers party. The ingredients for a really successful swingers party are similar to an ordinary one. Some of the suggestions may sound a little obvious but you would not believe how some people can ignore the basics when throwing a party.

Have some lively dance music to get the party going, and slower smoochy music to follow.

Use coloured bulbs in your main party areas. In general, while clearly you don't want everyone to be in pitch darkness, the lower the light levels the better.

Ensure that your house name or number is clearly visible from the road at night. If your house is set back off the road, make sure the name or number is clearly displayed at the entrance to your driveway. You don't want potential guests going to the wrong house and ringing their doorbell, just because yours is not easily identifiable!

If you are concerned about the neighbours, turn music volume down by Midnight. Very few people ever complain before that time. To avoid a problem, inform them in advance that you are holding a private party, apologising for any noise or inconvenience that may result. Always give a good reason for the party, even if it is a complete lie. Very few complaints are ever made when you do this, as it shows courtesy and consideration to the neighbours.

If cars have to be parked outside on the road, check they are parked legally and safely without blocking any drives.

Clear as much space as possible for dancing and general pervery. Remove anything valuable or fragile to a spare room or secure area. Protect furniture with covers, if you feel the need. Ensure your bathroom and toilet is clean with plenty of toilet paper. Lock or put notices on any rooms or areas that are out of bounds.

If you wish to designate certain areas as "No Smoking" areas, do so. Make it clear in the invites, and by notices inside. Most smokers respect these wishes without any problem. Remember approx half the members are non smokers. Always provide plenty of ashtrays.

If you are providing food, drinks, disco etc. then feel free to charge up to £20 per couple. This is quite normal practice. A degree of time and effort goes into throwing a good party, and it is only fair to be compensated for the costs, preparation and clearing up. If you make a small profit - fine, all the more incentive to hold another one. Don't go over the top with food. A simple finger buffet of snacks with some soft drinks will suffice. Members bring their own booze, half of which will often remain unopened.

We recommend start times between 9:00 and 11:00pm, and request everybody to arrive within an hour of your start time. Hosts can insist upon no admission after a deadline, without prior arrangement. This guarantees the party takes off quickly and the hosts can relax and enjoy themselves too.

Allow the party pervery to develop organically. Don't be too pushy. You can always get things going just by stripping off or playing with your partner or another couple you take a fancy to. It only takes 2 couples to get everyone going.

Always invite 50% more guests than you want. This may seem excessive but it isn't. Not everybody will turn up on the night. Normal turnout is 60% of those who booked in. Weather conditions on the night and the relative location can effect this figure up or down too. It is always better to have too many than too few guests.

Pets. If you have pets, make sure the house is well ventilated and they are kept well away from the guests. You may love your cats, but many people are allergic to them. Large dogs can frighten some people. Despite all the politically correct bullshit infesting this country, swingers have as many prejudices as anyone else, and they are not all animal lovers!

GIVE CLEAR AND CONCISE DIRECTIONS TO GUESTS IF YOUR HOUSE OR ROAD IS DIFFICULT TO FIND.
